If you struggle with the long irons, which lets be honest will be most of us, the new Titleist GT hybrids could be the answer.
Building on the success of its GT technology, there are three different models to choose from: GT1, GT2 and GT3.
This new line-up offers improved stability and forgiveness, along with new flat-weight adjustability, giving fitters and golfers greater control over centre of gravity to really dial-in the ball flight and launch they most desire.
Each GT hybrid model is designed for a different player profile, and offer higher inertia set-ups than the TSR models they replace along with refined shapes to improve playability.
Inspired by feedback from tour players, GT2 has a sleeker profile than TSR2, and features a flatter leading edge that sits flush to the turf, similar to the GT fairways.
GT3’s profile has a smaller footprint than the TSR3 and, like GT2, has a flatter leading edge, which improves playability off the turf and maximises performance on low-impact strikes.
Tom Bennett, Principal Product Manager, Titleist Metalwood R&D, explained: “When we set out to improve our hybrid line-up, one of the first things we looked at was stability.
“Hybrid forgiveness is particularly important because, for most players, these are scoring clubs. Eliminating excessive distance drop-off is a huge benefit, not just off the tee, but maybe even more so in approaching the green.
“The next question we asked ourselves was, ‘How do we really optimise performance for the player?’
“We wanted golfers to unlock the best possible performance out of these models through the fitting process.
“With the forward-aft adjustable weights on GT1 and the heel-toe adjustable weights on GT2 and GT3, we’ve added a considerable amount of customisation to each model, which will go a long way in dialling in launch conditions and ball flight.”

Offering tremendous forgiveness and playability for players who want a higher flight and mid-spin performance, the GT1 hybrid’s lightweight construction is designed to benefit the moderate swing speed player, and is available in a standard build through custom order. It has a confidence-inspiring profile at address, whilst the new levels of adjustability give fitters and golfers more control over their launch and spin.
The Titleist GT2 hybrid features the highest total MOI across the line-up, offering exceptional stability and forgiveness.
It delivers a high ball flight and is packaged in a sleeker, refined profile with a flatter sole design that sits flush to the turf. Its heel-toe CG adjustability allows fitters and golfers to position weights optimally, dialling in their ball flight and launch conditions.
The Titleist GT3 offers exceptional workability and forgiveness alongside a mid-high ball flight.
It features a smaller, more iron-like profile, yet its improved perimeter weighting boosts MOI considerably compared to the prior generation TSR3.
GT3 also features the same heel-toe CG adjustability as GT2, providing fitters and golfers the opportunity to optimise their weighting set-up.
We only managed to hit these at the PGA Show in Orlando in cold driving rain, so it’s fair to say we didn’t get any great data. Though the GT1 was a blast to hit and played like a compact fairway wood. It launched with ease and was surprisingly stable across the face. The GT2 also launched high but fitters are able to play around with the head weighting for those wanting a lower more penetrating flight.
